As I shared in my last post about the germination process, Nature is always reminding us to GROW through what we go through. Next, I want to talk about Roots and rising again.
Roots are what ground us, they keep us stable and standing. They keep us present and in the moment. They give us belonging. Often we refer to roots when we talk about family or where we call “home.” The inspirational story I want to share with you in this post is about the roots of the Eucalyptus tree.
Did you know that Eucalyptus trees have dormant roots deep within their root system that are only activated under extreme heat? These trees don’t like cold and grow in sunny, dry climates. Think New Zealand, Australia, California or Arizona. They grow in dry climates that are prone to wildfires. How the Eucalyptus tree has managed to evolve over time is to adapt to the climate around it. If a wildfire comes through and burns down the tree, the root system is already regenerating itself to rise again.
Now to bring that analogy to our life lesson. There are going to be wildfires (life situations and circumstances) that come through and desolate your landscape. It is beyond your control. When that happens you have two options, lie in the ashes and dust of what was, or slowly pick yourself back up, dust off the ash, and rise again. Remember it doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down. All that matters is the number of times that you stand back up.
In my next post, we will talk about the life lessons from Oak tree. In the meantime, feel free to grab our GROW One Page Download to follow along with the lessons and takes notes on how you can GROW through what you go through.
