Your Perfect Summer is One Pin Away
Often when I talk to non-Pinterest users about Pinterest, they say “I just don’t get the point.” I hear that a lot. I understand. I was that way at first until I was lured in and honestly I can’t remember how and when it happened. Pinterest is a great source of inspiration if you have a short-term/long-term project you are working on. Are you looking for home remodeling ideas, tips on planning a party or a new recipe for an event you are attending? There is a little something for everyone on this social media platform.
For those of you who still don’t understand. Have you read a magazine article or saw an advertisement, that you ripped out and put somewhere to remember? Perhaps in a notebook, pinned it to a corkboard or placed on your desk? A Pinterest “pin” is that article and the notebook or corkboard is the Pinterest “board”.
Now that warmer weather is here, I challenge you to check out all ways you can use Pinterest to plan your perfect summer. Here are just a few ideas:
Travelers: You can plan a vacation, or stay-cation, by looking up things to do in the area of your choosing.
Cooks: Expand your cooking repertoire by looking for summer salads, grilling tips or unique summer recipes.
Fashionistas: Do you want a new nail polish color, or possibly some fancy new sandals? Keep updated with the latest fashions with Pinterest. Most likely you can buy them as well, since Pinterest is the number one social media transaction tool.
Gardners: Find planting tips or redesign your garden with your garden Pinterest board.
Moms: The possibilities are endless for Mothers. Find cute activities, outfits or products for your children.
DIY-ers: Do you love to refinish furniture, or build things from scratch? Perhaps you need a new cushion for your porch swing? There is a pin for that. Follow easy instructions on how to make your own cushions, window treatments, or refinish that piece of furniture. Or if you are too lazy go buy it from other DIYers.
Event Planners: You don’t even need to be an official planner to plan a fabulous party. Look for fun ways to celebrate birthday parties, showers and cookouts this summer.
Gifters: Father’s Day is right around the corner, find the perfect gift for the Father in your life, by scoping out some Father’s Day inspired boards.
Bookworms: Create a reading list board! Then start checking off your list!
And if none of this appeals to you, create a Summer Bucket List Board. Pin all the things you hope to accomplish this summer. Before you know it, summer will be over.
