When we moved into our forever home, it took me over two years to find the perfect piece of art to hang over our TV. I didn’t know what the sign was but I knew when I saw it I would know what it was. Then one day I found it, “Be the Light.” It serves as a daily reminder to bring our best selves forward each and every day and share that light with the world.
In honor of Daylight Savings Time, I wanted to share this reminder with everyone. When the clock resets and we spring ahead, the days are brighter and longer. I love the feeling of longer days and all that they have to offer us. With the light comes so much promise. The promise of spring sports, outdoor concerts, activities that don’t require layers of clothing, and hours of the day spent out in nature.
But we do not need to rely on the giant star in the sky to bring the light. We have the same power. We are all beacons of light. Each and every one of us can bring light to those around us. Your good vibes, positive mindset, giving spirit, kind heart, and cheerful mood can be the light to those who surround you. Just like a stone that is cast into a lake that makes a ripple, your light can ripple out into the world and touch others.
I know it may feel wrong to be bright right now. Especially with the state of the world that we are living in. But that is when we all need it the most. There are people who are suffering that need to remember the light will shine again. We may not have the answers to when, but we can be part of the solution. It is now more important than ever that we share our light with the world. Be the light.
